Position Title: Superintendent, Whole Leg Debone & Marination

Location: Bethlehem, GA

Reports To: Production Manager

 

Position Summary:

The Superintendent, Whole Leg Debone & Marination oversees the whole leg deboning and marination operations, ensuring efficient, high-quality production. This senior supervisory role manages multiple supervisors and teams, optimizes line performance, ensures product quality, and enforces safety, hygiene, and biosecurity standards. The Superintendent collaborates with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to meet throughput goals, minimize waste, and comply with federal and state regulations, driving operational excellence and supporting Harrison Poultry’s processing objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee whole leg deboning and marination processes, managing supervisors and workers. 
  • Ensure proper deboning techniques and marination processes meet quality and yield standards. 
  • Monitor product quality, addressing defects and implementing corrective actions. 
  • Develop and enforce training programs for supervisors and workers on safe knife handling, marination equipment, PPE usage, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Optimize labor and equipment efficiency to minimize downtime, reduce waste, and achieve targets. 
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, and OSHA regulations, and GDA biosecurity protocols. 
  • Coordinate with maintenance to address equipment issues and ensure timely repairs. 
  • Conduct regular safety audits and enforce PPE use to minimize workplace injuries. 
  • Analyze production data and report performance metrics to the Plant Manager. 
  • Manage employees, addressing concerns and working with HR for hiring, training, and discipline. 
  • Support additional production needs during peak periods as directed by the Plant Manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership skills to manage supervisors and teams in a high-volume production environment.  
  • In-depth knowledge of deboning & marination processes, including equipment and QA standards.  
  • Ability to develop and deliver training on safe handling, equipment operation, and compliance.  
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate production data and implement process improvements.  
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with production, QA, maintenance, and HR teams.  
  • Proficiency with computer systems for reporting and data analysis.  
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, and occasionally lift up to 70 lbs while inspecting production areas.  
  • Thorough understanding of USDA, OSHA, and GDA regulations governing poultry processing.  
  • Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in poultry processing or food manufacturing

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed across the plant, with exposure to cold temperatures, water, noise, poultry odors, and occasional dust or live bird areas depending on oversight areas. 
  • Protective gear provided and required. 
  • Shift work, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or on-call availability, may be required.
