Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and distribution management experience.
  • Experience leading a team of direct reports is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of DOT requirements, truck maintenance procedures, and working knowledge of quality assurance program are preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication, team interaction, and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter, who is comfortable working independently, effectively manages multiple tasks and achieves results with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with computers and standard software packages (MS Office, E-Mail, etc.).

Description:

Under the direction of the Director of Distribution South Region, interface with the national logistics organization to ensure the efficient and effective use of product distribution resources. The selected candidate will be responsible for utilizing best practices in order to meet KPI goals for distribution, as well as finding ways to increase productivity. Responsible for implementation of safety programs, training, and compliance with quality assurance system and government regulations. The Distribution Superintendent will have responsibility oversight for the day-to-day management of the distribution operations supported by approximately 20 to 30 professional drivers at the Neosho, MO location. This position will also require some operations support and supporting other Distribution Superintendents. Accessibility during off-hours (laptop and cell phone) is required.

 

This position will be based in the Neosho, MO facility.

Duties Include:

  • Day-to-day supervision of truck drivers and maintenance personnel.
  • Always ensuring compliance with all safety (both internal and DOT requirements).
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state, federal, and Linde policies regarding environmental, permitting, and product quality requirements.
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training new drivers to fill open positions.
  • Ensure training records are kept on all employees and all necessary training is scheduled, attended, and completed.
  • Ensure housekeeping of distribution areas.
  • Work as a team with the Facility Managers and production personnel to maintain high levels of productivity.
  • Manage fleet maintenance schedules to minimize impact on operations, while maintaining the material condition of the equipment.
  • Contribute to Linde's productivity initiatives by finding and implementing cost reduction/lean/six sigma projects and ideas.
  • Resolves customer delivery issues communicated by drivers.
  • Lead/Support RCA/RCI investigations as necessary.
  • Meet company policy with submission and approval of drivers’ expenses.
  • Maintaining driver annual bid sheets, vacation bids and calendar, scheduling DOT physicals and audiograms.
  • Organize, file and ship DOT and Company paperwork.
  • Responsible for reviewing trip efficiency and safety data and developing / implementing action plans for improvement.

  • Able to travel up to 10% of the time.
