Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Construction to lead and support complex construction projects across a large, multi-site portfolio. This role oversees planning, execution, financial performance, and stakeholder coordination for construction and renovation projects, including MEP‑intensive scopes and active-site work. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Please Note: This role has six strict, non‑negotiable requirements. Candidates who do not meet all will not be considered:

  • 3 years of functional experience
  • 5 years of management experience
  • 5+ years of experience in construction sourcing or procurement
  • Experience with new builds and remodels in a commercial setting
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and communication skills
  • Deep understanding of construction timelines, materials, and procurement best practices

Requirements:

Project Leadership & Team Management

  • Oversee all phases of construction projects from planning through closeout.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, safety requirements, and organizational standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and support project managers, ensuring accountability for project delivery, schedule adherence, and performance metrics.

Construction Execution & Oversight

  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, commissioning, and field operations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Manage complex construction scopes including MEP systems, active-site renovations, and facility upgrades.

Project Controls & Financial Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates.
  • Monitor financial performance and proactively address risks or deviations.
  • Support proposal development, contract negotiations, and project recovery planning when needed.

Scheduling, Documentation & Reporting

  • Oversee project schedules, resource allocation, and progress tracking.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and compliance with project controls.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders clearly and consistently.

Safety & Compliance

  • Support risk assessments, site safety planning, and compliance reviews.
  • Champion safety programs and ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational safety standards.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Experience working with project management and financial systems.
  • 5+ years of management or leadership experience overseeing project teams or subcontractors.
  • Strong proficiency in project controls, forecasting, scheduling, and documentation.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office Suite, Adobe, Visio, and scheduling/estimating software.
  • Proven ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences and manage multiple priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing complex construction projects, including MEP systems and active-site renovations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the energy, industrial, or facilities management sectors.
  • Familiarity with California construction regulations and permitting processes.
  • PMP certification, OSHA 30, or similar credentials (preferred but not required)
  • Experience with document management or construction platforms (e.g., Procore, BIM360, PlanGrid)
