Our client is seeking an experienced Heavy‑Duty Equipment Diesel Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair mobile equipment used in a demanding, safety‑sensitive production environment. This role supports sitewide crews and ensures reliable operation of underground and surface mobile equipment essential to daily production.

The site is located within driving distance of the Thousand Islands, Lake Ontario shoreline, the Adirondack Mountains, and major Canadian cities such as Ottawa and Montreal.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety‑sensitive procedures, including LOTO and site safety protocols.
  • Conduct welding and fabrication work such as frame repairs, brackets, and bodywork.
  • Complete required maintenance reports, logs, and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Support production crews by ensuring equipment is returned to service safely and efficiently.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PMs), including scheduled hour services, fluid and filter changes, inspections, and component checks.
  • Maintain, diagnose, and repair a wide range of heavy‑duty mobile equipment used in underground and surface operations, including: Diesel Engines, Transmissions, and Drivetrain Components, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems, High‑Pressure and Centrifugal Pumps, Air Compressors and Electro‑Mechanical Systems, 12/24V Electrical Systems, Microprocessor Controls, and Equipment Cabs/Controls, Chassis, Suspension, Rims, Tires, and Wheels.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • All education levels considered.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Welding and fabrication experience (MIG, stick, or equivalent)
  • Ability to perform safety‑sensitive work without posing a direct threat to self or others.
  • Minimum 3 years of heavy‑duty diesel and earth‑moving equipment maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions to perform work safely and efficiently.
  • Hands‑on experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, compressors, and 12/24V electrical systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with maintenance recordkeeping systems or equipment service logs.
  • Vocational training, apprenticeship completion, or industry certifications in diesel mechanics.
  • Experience with underground mining mobile equipment (e.g., loaders, haul trucks, bolters, utility vehicles)
  • Experience working in heavy‑industrial, quarry, aggregate, construction, or equipment‑rental fleet environments.

Work Environment:

  • Full‑time onsite role in a heavy‑industrial mining environment.
  • Safety‑sensitive position requiring strict adherence to all site safety standards.
  • Requires working around mobile equipment, elevated noise, and varying environmental conditions.
