Description Of Job Duties
Maintains, repairs, and replaces sprinkler systems, including piping and related supports, sprinkler heads, control valves, pumps and fixtures. Must be able to respond to emergency situations on all occasions and must be available for telephone contact during all emergency and environmentally unsafe conditions. Other duties as assigned. Performs minor installation or modification work on liquid distribution systems including planning the work, estimating, ordering materials and supplies and equipment required to perform the work. Coordinates with other tradesmen as needed. Repairs and replaces piping in non-potable water systems such as condenser and chiller water systems as required to support the HVAC technician. Maintains, repairs, and replaces low-pressure steam systems, including boilers, control valves, piping, pumps, fittings, heat exchangers, controls, traps, meters, and other associated components. Maintains, repairs, and replaces oil-burners and related controls and components. Maintains repairs and replaces heat piping, radiation and pumps. Maintains, repairs, and replaces potable water systems made from metal or plastic including piping and related supports, fixtures such as faucets and toilets, fittings, pumps, hot water tanks, valves, meters, backflow preventers, controls and related softeners, distillers, booster pumps and safety showers. Maintains, repairs, and replaces sewage and storm water systems made from metal or plastic, including piping, vents and required supports for liquids such as sewage, storm water runoff, acids, solvents and other lab wastes.
Minimum Qualifications
Job requires broad trade knowledge or specific technical or business knowledge received from a formal registered apprentice or vocational training program or obtained through an associates degree or over 18 months and up to 3 years beyond high school. Over two years of experience.
