Position Summary

The Senior Site Superintendent – Concrete & Steel serves as the tactical field leader responsible for delivering Takco’s commitment to precision execution on large-scale industrial and manufacturing facilities. This role is pivotal to advancing our Lean System approach, integrating field efficiency, cost stewardship, and schedule discipline into every phase of construction.

The Senior Superintendent drives operational excellence by leading multi-disciplinary teams through complex concrete foundations, tilt-up structures, and heavy structural steel installations, ensuring alignment with Takco’s core principles of structured scalability and sustainable project delivery.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operational Oversight

  • Lead all site activities from mobilization through substantial completion, establishing a unified field culture aligned with Takco’s mission and standards.
  • Mentor and develop project teams, ensuring cross-functional collaboration between project management, field supervision, and subcontractor partners.
  • Represent Takco Construction in all client and partner-facing field communications, ensuring transparency, professionalism, and proactive engagement.

Technical Excellence – Concrete & Structural Steel

  • Direct all field activities related to cast-in-place concrete, heavy foundations, equipment pits, slabs, and steel erection for high-tolerance industrial environments.
  • Validate field layout, formwork, rebar installation, anchor bolt positioning, and steel alignment against project design intent and QA/QC benchmarks.
  • Coordinate specialized trade partners to maintain critical path sequencing for civil, concrete, and structural scopes.

Schedule & Resource Management

  • Maintain a three-week look-ahead schedule synchronized with the master project plan.
  • Drive manpower efficiency, equipment utilization, and logistics coordination to ensure schedule predictability and cost containment.
  • Lead daily stand-up meetings and weekly progress reviews to ensure alignment with Takco’s project control systems.

Safety, Quality, and Compliance

  • Enforce Takco’s Zero-Incident Safety Culture through pre-task planning, daily safety audits, and collaborative subcontractor engagement.
  • Execute project-specific QA/QC plans, ensuring compliance with specifications, inspection reports, and owner expectations.
  • Proactively mitigate risk by identifying constructability challenges and proposing field-engineered solutions.

Client, Engineer, and Stakeholder Relations

  • Support the on-site representative for Takco Construction, in maintaining strong working relationships with clients, engineers, and inspectors.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on progress, issues, and mitigation measures to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Champion a culture of partnership, solution-driven communication, and shared accountability across all project entities.


Qualifications & Core Competencies

  • Minimum 10+ years of field construction leadership, with 5+ years in senior-level superintendent or general superintendent roles.
  • Proven track record managing industrial/manufacturing projects involving complex concrete and steel systems.
  • Deep understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and field logistics.
  • Strong proficiency in Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, or equivalent and other digital reporting platforms.
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred; NCCER or ACI/PCI quality certifications preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor teams, enforce safety standards, and deliver projects within cost and schedule parameters.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across regional project assignments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead field meetings and represent Takco professionally to clients and partners.
