Jaxon Engineering is looking for an experienced Shop Fabricator/Welder to join our team in Colorado Springs.

Travel: While this role is primarily a shop position located in Colorado Springs, shop welders should be prepared to travel as needed to support field operations and project delivery. Trevel expenses are paid by the company.
Salary: $25.00 - $33.00
· Opportunity for overtime
· Per diems when traveling
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DOD) Secret clearance or higher is required for this role. All clearance related costs will be covered by the employer.
Weld Test Requirement:
Candidates will need to pass a hands-on weld test that includes:
· Building a small part (widget) from a blueprint using FCAW and MIG welds
· D1.1 3G and 4G FCAW plate welds
· D9.1 3G and 4G MIG welds

· Accurately read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings; build components to precise tolerances
· Perform a range of construction and fabrication tasks including heavy lifting, grinding, painting, and safe operation of hand and power tools (Ie. bandsaw, overhead cranes, forklift, etc.)
· Independently perform MIG, FCAW, and TIG welding on various materials including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
· Ensure quality and consistency across welds and finished products, adhering to safety and production standards
· Troubleshoot fabrication issues and contribute to continuous improvement of shop processes
Required Experience
· 3+ years’ professional job experience in welding and fabrication
· Ability to perform AWS D1.1, AWS D1.3, AWS D1.6, AWS D9.1 qualified welds
Desired Experience
· HEMP welding experience

Must have ability and/or willingness to do the following:
· Obtain United States Passport
· Use grinders, chop saws, drills, plasma cutters and both scissor lift & variable-reach forklifts
· Ability to bend over, kneel and crouch for long periods of time, & able to lift at least 50 lbs.
