Plant Manager - Ready Mixed Concrete

What You'll Do:

• Perform all job duties in strict accordance with company safety, environmental, and operational policies.
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture while upholding the company’s core values.
• Safely batch concrete and load trucks according to order specifications, ensuring the highest quality standards are met while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Enter material tickets into the back office system accurately and promptly.
• Prepare daily delivery packets, including batch tickets, material tickets, daily truck sheets, and other relevant receipts for submission to the main office.
• Conduct quality checks on sand moisture, slump, and temperature readings according to scheduled procedures.
• Schedule drivers for the following day based on information provided by Dispatch.
• Actively motivate and coach drivers to promote safety, efficiency, and teamwork.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4-6 years of related experience in concrete batching, plant operations, or a similar production environment.
• Possess ACI Level I Certification or can obtain ACI Level I Certification within six months of employment.
• Possess SCDOT Concrete Technician – Batching Certification or can obtain SCDOT Concrete Technician – Batching Certification within six months of employment.
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of concrete batching technology, equipment, methods, and safety.
• Ability to work early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Prior supervisory / management experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact with drivers and customers.
• Superior organizational skills and ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and projects.
• Eagerness to achieve and maintain a level of excellence in customer service.
• Good aptitude for coordination, planning, and scheduling.
• Ability to work productively with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in high pressure situations under tight deadlines.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to safely lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Ability to climb, stoop, bend, squat, lift, stretch, push, pull, twist, kneel, stand, walk, sit, reach, and operate a computer keyboard. 
• Ability to safely climb up and down stairs and/or ladders.
• Ability to work primarily outside, with exposure to the extremes of hot or cold weather.
