The Landscape Aide cares for the ornamental plants, landscape beds, containers, and annual beds of the resort according to the Blackberry Farm Landscape Manual standards. The Landscape Aide is also responsible for adhering to annual budgets, managing outside vendors, and catering to guests' needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform seasonal landscape work, including; pruning, planting, transplanting, leaf removal, dividing plants, weeding, deadheading, removing spent annuals and leaves, watering, and feeding.
Promote and contribute to sustainability initiatives
Ability to evaluate plant health and nutritional needs, including scouting for pests and diseases
Maintain tools and keep the shop and vehicle/ carts in a tidy condition
Manicure lawn areas, landscape plants, and mulched areas
Must be able to follow directions and plans
Fertilize lawn areas and landscape plants
Must have a thorough knowledge of perennials and annuals
Hand water and monitor irrigation of plantings
Adhere to the landscape plan and plant list designated by the company
Complete all necessary paperwork in conjunction with job duties
Manage outside vendor relationships
Participate in ice and snow removal in winter months
Interact with guests when necessary
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be able to work occasional weekends based on needs
Must be able to drive trucks and equipment used on property as well
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
Regular and consistent attendance is required to fulfill the essential functions of this position.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers, and interact with our guests.

Two years’ experience in fine gardening or landscaping or comparable education required
Resort experience strongly preferred
Experience with a garden layout and design is strongly preferred
Must be able to effectively communicate with other team members, guests, and managers
Basic knowledge and understanding of math
Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
Must be able to consistently lift to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift to 100 lbs.
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Must be able to be on feet for an extended period
Must be able to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely
