Laborer

We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Laborer to join our team. As a Laborer, you will be responsible for performing various physical tasks to support our operations. Job Functions and Functional Job Task Elements

Summary Job Description: Responsible for cleanup tasks near furnaces.
Task #1: Clean Up

• Responsible for sweeping and shoveling debris.
• Can be required to squat, stoop or kneel to shovel.
• Responsible for shoveling debris into wheel barrels and or into dump boxes/buckets.
• Remote control overhead crane utilized to dump boxes, etc into dump trucks.
• This requires operating overhead crane and applying chains to dump boxes.
• This involves using bilateral upper extremities and a moderate amount of force.
• Can be required to squat, stoop or kneel when shoveling debris.
• Responsible for undoing chains at appropriate time.

Task #2: Prep & Return Iron Pig

• Can also be required to lift 55# bags of coating as needed.
• Brushes on coating.
• Responsible for utilizing gas heat hose to dry.

Task #3: Miscellaneous

• Makes skimmer handles, nail blocks, and ladle cups.
• Sands CC cores-hand sands rough edges.
• Responsible for keeping area debris free and free from safety hazards.
• Occasionally assists the brick layer on large jobs, such as pouring, lifting 75 or more, etc.

Requirements: - Previous laborer experience - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately - Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively - Good communication skills - Ability to work well in a team environment

Shift: 8 hours regular shifts (1st shift only) and 12 hours over-time shifts.

Breaks: 30-minute lunch.

Flooring: Cement, grates, wooden platforms, rubber mats.

Lighting: Adequate overhead lighting.

Environment: Foundry shop environment. Need to be careful with other employees while moving overhead cranes in the vicinity.

Safety Equipment: Hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe shoes.

Strength Range: Medium-Heavy strength range.

Tools and equipment: Brooms, shovels, wheel barrel, overhead crane, dump buckets/boxes, various hand tools, coating, brushes, chains, etc. This list is not all inclusive.
