About the Role:

The Janitor or Custodian plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the warehouse facilities. This position ensures that all designated areas are properly cleaned and sanitized, contributing to the overall health and safety of employees and visitors. Additionally, the role requires following detailed verbal and written instructions to meet the specific cleanliness standards of the warehouse environment. Ultimately, the janitor supports operational efficiency by creating a hygienic workspace that aligns with security protocols and organizational work rules.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize, lobbies, offices, restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas.
• Daily sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Empty trash and recycling bins.
• Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Restock supplies in restrooms and break rooms.
• Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
• Follow safety procedures and use cleaning chemicals responsibly. 
• Respond to urgent cleaning requests as needed.
• Additional related tasks may be assigned as needed.

 Required Skills/Abilities:

• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and ability to lift objects up to 15 lbs.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude. 
• Capable of performing all essential job functions.

 Education and experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous janitorial and custodial or cleaning experience.
• Fluency in Spanish required

Work Environment:

• Primarily in a warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures.
• Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• May involve working around warehouse equipment, safety protocol must be followed.
