SALARY RANGE: $45,000-$63,000

 


ALL FULL TIME POSITIONS:     In addition to your pay, your salary also includes Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. The Biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for Employee Only, $95.00 Employee plus Children, $120.00 Employee plus Spouse, and $140.00 Employee plus family.

Position Summary:

The Heavy Equipment / Transload Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient handling, loading, and unloading of bulk materials, containers, and cargo using heavy equipment such as forklifts, loaders, excavators, and reachstacker. This position supports daily operations at the transload facility, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant transfer of products between railcars, trucks, and storage areas.

  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment (forklifts, front-end loaders, reachstacker, excavators, telehandlers, etc.) to move, load, and unload materials from trucks, railcars, and storage areas.
  • Perform transloading of bulk, palletized, or containerized goods safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect equipment before and after use; report maintenance needs and ensure proper functioning.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials moved, loads completed, and operational logs as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies.
  • Secure loads properly and verify weights and counts as per shipping documents.
  • Operate within a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), adhering to customs and security procedures.
  • Perform routine housekeeping duties to keep work areas safe, organized, and clean.
  • Assist with basic maintenance, staging, and coordination of rail and truck shipments.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding workflow and potential delays.

  

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial, warehouse, or transload environment preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
  • Working knowledge of rail operations and transload processes a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret load plans, shipping documents, and safety instructions.

  

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in industrial/warehouse and outdoor environments with exposure to noise, dust, and weather elements.
  • Shift work and occasional weekends may be required depending on operational needs.
