Facility/Mechanical Artisan: Hospital Facility experienced

Facility/Mechanical Artisan is responsible for all HVAC and medical plants of the facility. Co-ordinate routine maintenance on all mechanical plant, air-conditioning units, air handling units, heat pumps, vacuum pumps, compressors, autoclaves, kitchen equipment, gas installations, hot and cold-water reticulation and all other mechanical equipment.

Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

• Ensure operation and reliability of mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
• Co-ordinate routine maintenance on all mechanical plant, air-conditioning units, air handling units, heat pumps, vacuum pumps, compressors, autoclaves, kitchen equipment, gas installations, hot and cold-water reticulation and all other mechanical equipment,
• Ensure that all service records of equipment is documented and filed,
• Perform general building maintenance tasks throughout the facilities,
• Cost control through proper preventative maintenance and fast effective response to breakdowns,
• Conduct risk assessments prior to conducting any maintenance related work on mechanical equipment,
• After hour standby and call out responsibilities.

Requirements include but are not limited to:

• At least an N4/N5 qualification in Mechanical Engineering with a trade test certificate,
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS system knowledge,
• Practical experience within a hospital environment or similar environment is preferred,
• General knowledge in HVAC, air conditioning systems, hospital isolock, air compressors and vacuum pump systems would be beneficial,
• Valid driver’s license and having your own vehicle will be an advantage.
