Duties/Responsibilities
- Independently perform routine cleaning tasks of assigned facilities, including trash removal, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, glass cleaning and dusting throughout the facilities
- Ensure restrooms are clean, sanitary and stocked with necessary supplies
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas, break rooms, and meeting rooms
- Assist in setting up and taking down furniture for events and meetings
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the custodian lead
- Follow safety protocols and best practices in all cleaning procedures
- Perform housekeeping duties at Low Places, as required, to include room change out, laundry, dishes and general tidiness for guest comfort
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Required Skills/Abilities:
Required:
- Proven previous experience in custodial or janitorial work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Superior attention to detail
- Basic understanding of cleaning procedures and equipment
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks
Preferred:
- Experience, knowledge, ability and willingness to train junior custodians
- Advanced knowledge of relevant technical skills and technologies to include
- familiarity with cleaning tools, equipment, and safety procedures
- Basic computer skills for managing cleaning schedules and reporting
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times
