Custodian

ABOUT IBERIA COMPREHENSIVE  HEALTH CENTER: 

Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) and its satellite health centers are the leading providers of primary health care services in the communities we serve, including individuals who are both insured and uninsured. ICCHC provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive health care services, including vision care.   

ICCHC is currently seeking a full-time Custodian for its DeRidder and Merryville locations. The custodian will cover both locations. 

GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in all areas of the healthcare facility, including but not limited to clinical, pharmacy, administrative, and public spaces. This role is critical in infection prevention and supports the health and safety of patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to strict cleaning protocols and regulatory standards.                                               

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. EDUCATION: High School Graduate or Equivalent Required.   

2. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Successful employee should have one or more years of on-the-job training and/or combination of on-the-job plus previous experience dealing with the public preferably in a healthcare environment.  Person must have pleasant personality and clear voice and diction.   

3. JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment. Familiarity with infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Physical stamina and dexterity to lift, bend, walk, and stand for extended periods. Basic understanding of safety and hygiene regulations in healthcare. Basic understanding of safety and hygiene regulations in healthcare. S/He should have the ability to prioritize and organize work and work independently as well as schedule and produce work in a timely manner. 

4. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, crouching, and bending. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and manual dexterity for operating equipment and tools.
