JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY
The Concrete Project Executive (PX) reports to either a Division Manager or Operations Manager (DM/OM) based on the organization structure. The primary role of the PX is to assist the DM/OM in managing large or multiple concrete construction projects within the division. The PX ensures project success by monitoring processes, progress, and outcomes in the following areas: client satisfaction, team effectiveness, employee development, financial goals, quality, and schedule. Serving as the liaison between the jobsite and DM/OM, the PX provides the necessary support and resources for the project team to successfully execute their duties. Additionally, the PX contributes to business development efforts to secure new opportunities for the Concrete Division.

Organizational Relationship
The PX is a leadership role within the division.

Accountability
The PX is accountable to the DM/OM for the successful operation of assigned projects and for achieving quantitative and qualitative goals and objectives for each project and the division.

Authority
In accordance with company guidelines and with DM/OM concurrence, the PX has the authority to recruit, hire, recommend promotion, terminate, and transfer operations personnel.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development

  • Participate in the development, execution, and presentation of proposals for new projects.
  • Ensure all clients are satisfied and become advocates for the company.
  • Secure positive referrals to promote future work opportunities.

Lead the Preconstruction Process

  • Collaborate with DM/OM to coordinate preconstruction meetings, plan reviews, general conditions, and schedules to support budgeting, bidding, or GMP deliverables.
  • Ensure sufficient subcontractor coverage and pre-qualification under our SDI program.
  • Oversee project buy-out and scope review with Assistant Project Managers (APMs) and Project Managers (PMs).

Oversee Project Operations

  • Supervise the startup process for concrete projects.
  • Oversee the creation and development of initial project schedules.
  • Review monthly project financial performance through CMIC to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Manage project risk in accordance with company guidelines, focusing on schedule and quality management.
  • Collaborate with APMs and PMs to review deliverables for clients.
  • Ensuring safety is a top priority on every project.

Manage Human Resources

  • Proactively support recruitment of new employees.
  • Engage in training, development, and mentoring of team members.
  • Encourage employee growth through development plans and performance reviews.
  • Assist DM/OM with resolving any team issues on projects.

Manage Policy and Procedure Implementation

  • Ensure that all company policies and procedures are effectively implemented.

Client and Team Relations

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, design teams, and suppliers, reflecting company core values.
  • Oversee the resolution of outstanding project issues with owners, subcontractors, and vendors.

Leadership and Employee Development

  • Act as a role model and promote professional behavior in alignment with company values, purpose, and vision.
  • Take ownership of personal career development and support the development of Project Engineers (PEs), APMs, PMs, and interns.

Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES

  • Concrete Expertise: Deep understanding of concrete construction processes and project management systems.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead, mentor, and develop project teams.
  • Business Acumen: Experience with business development, client relations, and project financials.
  • Problem Solving: Effective in implementing practical solutions and resolving conflicts.
  • Decision Making: Demonstrates sound judgment, aligned with company core values.
  • Customer Focus: Proactive in creating positive experiences for clients.
  • Adaptability: Flexible and able to adjust to the demands of projects.


Qualifications

WORKING CONDITIONS
The PX generally operates from the office but must visit job sites regularly to oversee one or more projects simultaneously. The PX should be able to withstand jobsite conditions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of progressive concrete construction experience.
  • Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
