Residential Construction Laborer / Driver

The Role

We're seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Laborer / Driver to support our carpentry and construction teams. This role is vital to keeping projects running smoothly -- from maintaining organized job sites to transporting materials and assisting skilled tradespeople.

The ideal candidate is proactive, safety-conscious, and eager to learn about residential construction while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport tools, materials, and equipment
• Drive and maneuver large dually pickup trucks and dump trailers
• Load and unload materials efficiently and maintain vehicle cleanliness and organization
• Perform regular vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
• Assist with site setup, demolition, dust protection, and final punch list tasks
• Keep job sites clean, organized, and hazard-free
• Support carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and other trades as needed
• Handle daily cleanup, debris removal, and site breakdown
• Follow OSHA safety standards and ensure proper use of PPE
• Inspect tools, equipment, and vehicles regularly and report any issues
• Run errands and pick up materials as directed
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the Tectonic shop
• Provide general support to supervisors and teammates as needed

Qualifications

• Strong awareness of safe working practices and adherence to safety protocols
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
• Dependable, proactive, and organized work ethic
• Ability to follow directions while thinking critically and independently
• Previous experience in construction, carpentry, or remodeling (preferred)
• Familiarity with construction tools, materials, and basic site operations (preferred)
