Position Summary / What You’ll Do
This is a developmental role with an emphasis on training and growth, preparing you to perform independent project work within RETTEW’s HSE practice. As a Health and Safety Technician, you will grow to support industrial, construction, and environmental safety programs through field inspections, data collection, and compliance monitoring.
Responsibilities / Day-to-Day
• Participate in and conduct training to develop technical safety and compliance skills.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors regarding safety procedures and findings.
• Conduct field safety observations, job site audits, and compliance checks.
• Support the implementation of health and safety plans for field and construction projects.
• Prepare and maintain safety documentation, logs, and reports.
• Provide field support for emergency response, industrial hygiene, and site investigations.
Qualifications
Required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Safety Science, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Up to 2 years of relevant experience (entry-level candidates will be considered).
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments, often requiring travel to field and client sites.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Excellent presentation skills.
Preferred
• OSHA 10- or 30-Hour Certification.
• Previous field experience in safety support roles.
• Familiarity with applicable OSHA and EPA regulations.
