HVAC Technician

Description

The HVAC Technician will perform work on heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, general maintenance, and preventative maintenance on HVAC/R.

Minimum Qualifications  

• Graduation from High School or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of related work experience.
• Ability to work from blueprints.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Have a valid driver’s license.                          
• EPA Level I and II certification in refrigerant handling.
• Knowledge of refrigeration troubleshooting and repairs.
• Knowledge of ventilation system troubleshooting and repairs.
• Knowledge of air condition system troubleshooting and repairs.
• Knowledge of steam system troubleshooting and repairs.
• Knowledge of direct logic controllers troubleshooting and repairs.
• Knowledge of pneumatic controls for HVAC applications.
• Knowledge of computers and e-mail.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring diagrams and electrical troubleshooting as applied to HVAC systems.
• Brazing and soldering to maintain and repair HVAC equipment.
• Knowledge of installing threaded piping in steam, gas, and water piping systems.
• Knowledge of boilers and their associated controls troubleshooting and repairs.

Preferred Qualifications    

• Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relations with students, faculty and staff employees.
• Experience working with Building Automation Systems.

Schedule         

40 Hours/ 12 Months/ Monday – Friday
