Position Overview:


Join the growing team at our world-class train manufacturing facility in Lexington, North Carolina. Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger locomotives and coaches, and light rail vehicles. As a Production Welder I, you will support a broad range of welding, alignment, and assembly activities in a dynamic, high-energy production environment in the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless-steel car bodies for the best rail vehicles in the world.


What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Duties may consist of, but not limited to, working from production blueprints, parts lists, sketches and verbal instructions to perform electronic or manual welding production, as well as standard and repetitive assembly operations.
  • Build up and assemble routine welded units such as subassemblies and mounts parts.
  • Make visual inspections and established quality checks.

To thrive in this role, you have:
  • High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Practical welding test will be required for all candidates to assess skills.
  • Working knowledge of torch and plasma equipment is preferred.
  • General mechanical background.
  • Fully understand manufacturing drawings, able to verify dimensions.
  • Capable of basic written and verbal communication in English.
   

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently required to climb stairs, steps, and ladders
  • Frequently required to work on elevated platforms.
  • Occasionally lift and move at most 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
