Concrete Technician

Technologist will execute all field work according to work plan. Technologist will ensure that all equipment is in working order and is functioning properly before and after each field inspection. It is the Technologist's responsibility to maintain all field and office equipment clean and in working condition at all times. Technologist will make a list of equipment required for each project, collect all the tools, test and ensure that they are in working order, and ship it (if necessary) to site via ground. Technologist will call and make sure that the packages arrived safely. Ensure that all the equipment is in working order prior to taking it to the jobsite. Technologist will prepare memos for all field and laboratory work (detailing what was done step by step) and submit it to Siva for approval. Only approved memos will be in the files.

I. Maintain the Laboratory Facility
a. Catalog specimens received
b. Track specimens
c. Perform appropriate tests
d. Record test results and submit them for reports
e. Dispose of finished materials according to the proper period of time
f. Keep lab facility and instruments clean and organized
II. Field Work
a. Travel to job sites
b. Perform needed tasks
c. Safety is important. Follow safe working procedures at all times. Always ask if you have questions.
d. Assist principal in any tasks
III. Office Work
a. Catalog and prepare photos for reports
b. Assist in preparing power point presentations
c. Assist with excel spreadsheets as needed
d. Work with Photoshop as needed
e. Write memos of all completed work
f. Process data from corrosion rate plots
g. Maintain equipment list with serial #’s
h. Back up all files on Fridays
i. Fill out time sheets and expense sheets and submit every Friday

This is a field position to inspect bridges across US requiring travel and physical labor. Two year college a plus.
