Full-time
On-site
Bend, Oregon, United States
$80,000 - $100,000 USD yearly

As Carpentry Supervisor, you'll own the day-to-day leadership of our carpentry department, managing up to 4-6 active production crews across multiple job sites. But this role goes beyond traditional field Supervision. Over time, you'll take on a growing technology function: creating deck build plans, collaborating with engineers, supporting the sales team's bidding process, and developing CAD designs for projects. The long-term vision is to hire someone who can use smart tools and automation to streamline the work. We're not expecting you to show up on Day 1 with the skills to do all of this. We're looking to hire someone with the aptitude and drive to grow into it.

 Field Leadership

  • Supervise and coordinate up to 4-6 carpentry crews across multiple active job sites
  • Own production quality, crew scheduling, job site safety, and material coordination
  • Oversee the execution of deck builds, siding installations, and finish carpentry projects
  • Conduct regular site visits, quality checks, and crew performance reviews
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between field crews and project management

 Systems & Technology (Growth Track)

  • Identify inefficiencies in current field workflows and drive process improvements
  • Learn and eventually own our project management and bidding software tools
  • Work alongside our sales team to help accurately estimate and bid carpentry projects
  • Collaborate with our engineer to develop deck build plans and construction documents
  • Create CAD drawings and design plans to support sales, engineering and production
  • Leverage automation and digital tools to scale output without adding headcount
Requirements

Required Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on carpentry experience with strong knowledge of deck build plans and construction documents
  • 2+ years of Supervisory or Crew Leader experience managing multiple teams simultaneously
  • Proven ability to maintain quality and production pace across concurrent job sites
  • Strong communication - effective with crews on site and leadership in the office
  • Valid Driver's License with insurable driving record and ability to drive between multiple job sites

The Tech Mindset We Need

  • You see technology as a tool, not a threat, and you are willing to learn new software and systems
  • You naturally look for ways to streamline and systemize - you notice what's broken and want to fix it
  • You're comfortable working in project management platforms, with spreadsheets or similar digital tools
  • Experience in (or genuine interest in learning) estimating/bidding software and/or CAD design tools

Bonus Points

  • Familiarity with deck design or CAD software (SketchUp, AutoCAD, DeckDesigner, or similar)
  • Experiencing using construction estimating or bidding platforms
  • Background in developing or improving field processes at a residential contractor
  • Experience working with structural engineers or pulling building permits
